Living in the age of Tinder has turned the dating world upside down. What you would normally expect to happen on a date seems to have gone completely out the window and now, anything goes. Most people have a nightmare Tinder story, and this one especially is a cautionary tale for anyone trying online dating.
After the awful experience, he decided he wasn't about to become the girl's meal ticket and the only option to escape the nightmare was to dine and dash. While his date waited for him back at the table, he discreetly "left the bathroom, headed out the door, got in my car, and drove home." Leaving her with the entire $150 bill.
Unsurprisingly, his date was furious he ditched her. She apparently messaged him calling him "a 'f*****' about twelve times." No word if she paid the entire check. After posting his horror story online, many congratulated him for playing "the player at her own game" and said he "handled that like a champ." But not everyone agreed.
Some pointed out leaving her to cover his bill made him "just as bad as her now" and that he easily could have asked to split the bill when it arrived at the end of the meal. The person people felt most sorry for though was the poor waiter who was going to have to deal with the girl when she realized she's been ditched with a $150 bill.
They pointed out the server "probably got stiffed just because he had a bad date" and that if it was them they would have "grabbed the waiter on the side and paid for their portion before leaving." Another said they would have made sure they got a "generous tip," adding: "No point punishing the server. Especially if they'll have to deal with the tantrum." Others claimed they would have gone further and warned staff his date "may be likely to dine and dash." Moral of the story? Don't go for dinner on a Tinder date, always split the bill and be kind to waiters.
